The island of the sun : Rhode
Rhodes synopsis :
- It’s a greek island, located in the eastern Aegean Sea
- The island is populated by around 115 thousand inhabitants
- It’s the place where one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world used to stand : the Colossus of Rhodes
Places to visit :
I was lucky enough to be guided by locals, so some of the best places to visit are :
- The Medieval city of Rhodes – Castles, temples, museums, shops …
- The palace of the grand master of knights – My personal favourite place in the medieval city.
- The Acropolis of Rhodes – also knows as Monte Smith. Here it is located the temple of Apollo
- The valley of the butterflies
- The 7 springs – Have you ever walked through a tunnel with absolutely no light for 10 minutes to get to a waterfall ?
- The “prasonisi” – Let’s fly!
- Lindos – One of the oldests cities of the island, and my favourite too.
- Kallithea – Which means: “nice view”
- The Antony Quinn bay
- The St Paul’s bay – Voted as the 3rd most beautiful beach in Greece.
