Βουβό έγχρωμο 8mm – Αρχείο Δ. Κιριμλίδη
Βρισκόμαστε στη Ρόδο. Το φιλμ ανοίγει με ένα πανοραμικό πλάνο από το λιμάνι Μανδράκι. Βλέπουμε την μεσαιωνική πόλη της Ρόδου, αυτοκίνητα εκείνης της εποχής, τους μύλους, το φρούριο του Αγίου Νικολάου, τις δυο ψηλές κολώνες με τα χάλκινα ελάφια και καταλήγουμε στον Καθεδρικό Ναό του Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου.
Ο φακός μας δείχνει ένα πλάνο από έναν δρόμο με το Τζαμί του Μουράτ Ρέις να ξεχωρίζει, την πλατεία του Ιπποκράτη με το μεγάλο συντριβάνι και έπειτα τα σοκάκια της πόλης με τουριστικά μαγαζιά, κόσμο να πηγαινοέρχεται καθώς και ηλικιωμένους να κάθονται σε κάποιο καφενείο. Τα πλάνα από την παλιά πόλη συνεχίζονται με το Τζαμί του Σουλεϊμάν να ξεχωρίζει στο βάθος, την οδό των Ιπποτών, ένα κοριτσάκι να γεμίζει ένα μπουκάλι από μια πηγή και ένα ακόμα πλάνο απ’ το καφενείο.
Ο κινηματογραφιστής με ένα ακόμα μεγάλο πανοραμικό μας δείχνει το κτήριο της περιφέρειας Νοτίου Αιγαίου με το φρούριο Αγίου Νικολάου και συνεχίζει με πλάνα από το Παλάτι του Μεγάλου Μαγίστρου των ιπποτών. Το φιλμ κλείνει με ένα πανοραμικό όλης της Μεσαιωνικής πόλης και το Μανδράκι από κάποιο ύψος.

We are in Rhodes, an island of Greece that is located in the southeastern Aegean and belons to the Dodecanese.
The film opens with a panoramic shot of Mandraki Port. We see the medieval old town of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage monument since 1988, cars of that era, the mills, the fortress of Saint Nikolaos, the two tall columns of limestone where the symbols of the island are: a bronze deer and a bronze doe and we end up at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Virgin.
The lens shows us a shot of a street with the Mosque of Murat Reis standing out, Hippocrates square with the big fountain and then the town alleys with tourist shops, people coming and going and elderly people sitting in a traditional cafe. The shots of the old town continue with Suleymaniye Mosque standing out in the background, the Street of the Knights, a little girl who fills a bottle from a water fountain and one shot of the traditional cafe. The filmmaker with one more panoramic shot shows us the building of the South Aegean District with the fortress of Saint Nikolaos being visible in the background and continues with shots of the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, or Kastello, with a marble sign that reads “STREET OF KNIGHTS” and the palace’s main entrance.
The film closes with a panoramic view of the entire Medieval old town and Mandraki port from a certain height.
